Swimming macaques

Crab-eating macaques are the only monkeys that go regularly to the sea.   But that is only some individuals of some rare groups.

Although it can be in order to feed, it is mainly for pleasure. Man is not the only one to enjoy bathing! This behavior is exceedingly rare in primates which usually are very scared of water. It took us three years across South-East Asia to find this group in Thailand that often swims and even dives, with opportunities to see macaques in all sorts of situations. But that is only some individuals of some rare groups.
Another story in the story is their different ways of drinking, from animal style lapping to opening sealed plastic bottles without breaking them.
