Azores: from whaling to whale-watching

These islands have been married to the Atlantic. Just about half way between Europe and America, they benefit from a mild climate that grows a wealth of green vegetation. But this is mainly the privilege site to encounter marine mammals from dolphins of different species, to many whales. Especially the big Sperm Whale, a gentle giant hunted here for ages and nowadays only visible to friendly tourists, thanks to the local experts.
